According to numerous news outlets the Padres interviewed Dodgers assistant GM Kim Ng for the vacant GM job. So this is who Jeff Moorad was talking to right before I walked into his office. He told me that he just finished up a telephone interview with the person and would meet with them this weekend in person (they were spotted having lunch together on Saturday). He also told me that if “they had to make an announcement tomorrow (Friday) regarding a new GM that they would have their person”…..meaning sorry Kim they’ve already got their person.
